FOOD
All the oxygen, hiking and good times makes us very hungry! Breakfast is a very slow time to start the day properly, fresh brewed coffee, some cereal and cold milk from the ice chest to start things off. Maybe some huevos on tortillas and fruit to carry us through a long, strenuous hike. "Meat-Sheets" for lunch, luncheon meat from the ice chest, add fresh cut avocado, olives, fresh, hot salsa, & tortilla chips. Once the fire is started, preparations for dinner begin. Dutch oven, meat, vegetables, potatoes cooked ever so good! A little desert of iced oatmeal cookies and cold milk finish off the eating period.
Pot roast cooked to perfection in the Dutch oven.

FIRE
Building a good cook-fire is essential for a successful dinner and evening entertainment. Plenty of wood, all brought in is the key to a good time...Warmth, Light, Friends, an orbit that can only be achieved with the common consciousness that comes from years of knowing each other. Melting Glass in the coals of a fire that has turned white-hot. Primitive... man and night, exposed to everything that was present during the day plus the darkness. All the deepest colors you could ever imagine! Photographs do not even come close to capturing the landscape.
After dinner we turn up the music and the fire, "Miner's Ball"!
